Renowned Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has announced the cancellation of her planned charity giveaway, expressing concerns over potential risks following the tragic events at a charity funfair in Ibadan.

The actress shared her decision during a heartfelt live session on Instagram, where she reacted to the stampede that occurred at an event organized by Olori Naomi and Hamzat Oriyomi. The unfortunate incident claimed 35 lives, leading to their detention as investigations into the tragedy continue.

A visibly emotional Aiyeola explained her apprehension about public charity initiatives, stating, “I am no longer doing giveaways. I am done. I have family members that need help. I will do my giveaway with them. If helping people will land someone in prison, I am out. People should learn from the case of Alhaji Hamzat Oriyomi and Queen Naomi.”

She also expressed unease over the superstitious rumors surrounding the tragedy, with some alleging it was a deliberate ritualistic act.
