After due hearing from all parties in the Kogi State Governorship election petition, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has reserved judgement. The judgement would be communicated on a date yet to be made public.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo having been declared as the winner of the state governorship election in November 11th, 2023, was taken to Election Petition Tribunal by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Murtala Ajaka who claimed to possess proofs of alleged irregularities in the conduct of the election, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Dino Melaye opted out of legal tussles.

Recall that judges of the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal and Appeal Court have variously given affirmation to the victory of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as having been duly elected by the people of Kogi State.
