Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has announced a Christmas break for civil servants, providing an opportunity for government workers to enjoy the festive season with their families.

The announcement, made by the Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy, Mrs. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, confirmed that the Christmas break will run from December 24 to December 30, 2024.

However, the directive excludes workers in essential services, who are expected to remain on duty despite the Christmas break throughout the period to ensure the smooth running of critical operations.

In his message, Governor Diri expressed heartfelt gratitude to Bayelsa residents for their unwavering support, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation in fostering development across the state. He also extended warm Christmas wishes and hopes for a prosperous New Year to all citizens.

The governor urged residents to celebrate responsibly and remain committed to the collective progress of the state during the festive season.
