The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Nigerians to use this year’s Christmas celebration to foster love, unity, and care among one another, regardless of creed, class, or other divisive factors.

This appeal was made in a statement issued in Abuja by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, who lamented the prevailing economic hardship faced by millions of Nigerians, attributing it to the policies and governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ologunagba emphasized that Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ, is a poignant reminder of God’s enduring love for humanity and His promise of divine solutions to life’s challenges, including the struggles facing the nation.

“The PDP laments that due to the abysmal level of poverty in the country, millions of Nigerians are no longer able to afford their daily meals, with most families lacking the resources to travel to celebrate and bond with their loved ones as usual,” the statement read.

The party urged citizens to remain hopeful and committed to promoting the values of love, peace, and unity as exemplified by Jesus Christ, even in the face of economic difficulties.

As Nigerians celebrate the season, the PDP expressed optimism for a brighter future, encouraging everyone to hold onto faith and work collectively towards building a more inclusive and prosperous nation.
