A tragic road accident in Ore, the administrative hub of Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State, claimed the lives of four individuals—three police officers and a female suspect.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday, was caused by a trailer driver who was speeding, lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median, and collided with a police van that was transporting the officers and the suspect.

Eyewitnesses reported that the four officers, members of the Monitoring Unit of the Ondo State Police Command, had been traveling from Akure to Ore to carry out an arrest. According to Channels Television, one officer survived the crash but sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Samuel Ibitoye, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State, confirmed the accident and stated that the cause was the excessive speed of the trailer driver.
