President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a glowing tribute to his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, as the former Nigerian leader marks his 82nd birthday.

In a heartfelt statement released on Tuesday, Tinubu lauded Buhari’s resilience, dedication, and impact on the nation, describing him as a figure who inspires perseverance and commitment to purpose.

“Your doggedness and resilience in contesting presidential elections in 2003, 2007, and 2011 before finally winning in 2015 and 2019 inspire us never to give up,” Tinubu noted.

Tinubu, who succeeded Buhari as Nigeria’s president in 2023, highlighted his predecessor’s contributions to national development and pledged to build on the foundation laid during his administration.

“I will continue to build on the infrastructure legacy you bequeathed to our nation as the leader of our country’s first All Progressives Congress (APC) administration,” he stated.
