According to eyewitness accounts, chaos erupted after a man claimed his manhood had been stolen, prompting an enraged crowd to attempt lynching the alleged culprits.
However, further investigation revealed a surprising twist. The alleged victim reportedly admitted to testing his manhood and confirming it was functioning normally.
Police officers swiftly intervened, dispersing the mob and escorting the suspects to safety. The duo was taken to the station for questioning before being released to their families for medical care.
SP Yamu described the incident as a reminder of the dangers of jungle justice and emphasized the importance of due process. In his statement, he said:
“This is an unfortunate situation. The Edo Police Command responded promptly to the distress call and rescued the individuals accused of manhood theft, including a minor, amidst an angry mob attempting to lynch them. Later, it was revealed that the alleged victim tested his manhood and found it to be ‘working.’”
He further assured the public that investigations are ongoing to locate the alleged victim and unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police called on residents to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, urging them to report such cases for proper investigation.
“Efforts to trace the alleged victim are in progress. Let us collectively say no to jungle justice over unverified allegations,” SP Yamu added.
